If with all your Heart

The author discusses problems that short-circuit our prayers, and shows how God wants to do even more than we ask—often saying no to our smaller prayers so that He can say yes to our larger need.

Prayerlessness, says the author, is our greatest sin. Prayer is not a way to do "insider trading" with God in a sort of wheelin'-an'-dealin' cargo cult religion. It is not a way to persuade the Beneficent One to be beneficent. Prayer is the breath of the soul; it is a lifestyle of seeking the heart of God, who gives us more than we ask for. And when with all our heart we truly seek Him, we will surely find Him.
